May hasn't been the most productive month, but not all of em can be, am I right?

At any rate, sorry for leaving you bored.

Here's something called "Starry".  It sounds dancy, but I imagine it a rather nice soundtrack for sitting on a porch, watching the night sky.  »»

It doesn't really make up for two weeks of nothing, but it's something.

Seriously, new music coming soon...getting the machine back to normalness after el dia de los nerdish yuppies

Speaking of SFA the other day, here's one of my few collector's items.

05/11/05

Aaaaaand we're back.

It's "Tea Time".

Oy, bit of a dry spell here.  While you're waiting for new Anabel songs, please enjoy one of my favorite beats ever, courtesy of the Super Furry Animals.

It comes from one of the menus of this SFA DVD.  If you haven't seen it, I'd recommend picking it up.  You won't regret it.

If you're not hearing much low end, try listening with some bass-capable headphones or on a beefy sound system.  There's gonna be a good deal missing if you're listening on laptop speakers!   »»

The beat bears the trademark awesomeness of Cian Ciaran, keyboardist of SFA, who over the past 2 years has become my musical guru and standard bearer.  To me, nobody does it better.

Put another way: when I make music, I think about trying to make it as cool as Cian.

Neither this website nor the music on it would exist as they do without SFA, especially Cian.

Thank you, lads.

Please drop by the music section and take in the new "Baroque Hotel Lounge".

Click here to look at some interesting things while you listen.   »»

Also, here's what Chicago's looking like this time of the year.

"Gear Shift" is up on the most recent block.  See what you think.  This was gonna be a smaller thing, but it got big.  We may be looking at some remodeling in the near future.
04/20/05
Parents and children, please take time today to reach across the boundaries of generations.  I suggest doing that by sharing a smoke and listening to this.

Midnight post...on the dot!

Just a couple of quickies today.  Hope they please.  »»

Also, whenever you have a chance, check out the writings of The Southern Avenger for some great perspective from the American South.

"Smokers Hustle":

It's the music that would be playing in my head if I were in the NBA.

Uhhh, sucka.

I had never heard of Mitch Hedberg until news of his death came a couple days ago.

After checking out just a sampling of his material, it seems like another great one is gone.  »»

When things like this happen, it's just that much harder trying to come to terms with the fact that Denis Leary still roams this planet.

03/29/05

"Flying Over Town" is up.  Have a listen.

Also, did you know that the spires on top of the Sears Tower blink once every 1.5 seconds?  Check out "Sears Tower Blinking" and think about that.

03/31/05
Now that's good thinkin.

Well, I guess it's time to start getting in the swing of updating the site on a regularl basis. It'll take some getting used to, and I hope all you Centralites keep on me when things look slack.  Hit me up at the address above and let me hear it.

There's some new buildings going up soon, and lots of blueprints being considered for construction.  »»

I'm refocusing efforts in light of ABC's arrival. The supreme goal is a new building every day in the music section.

On the words front, keep an eye out for some more A/V stimulation in the form of links.  I think it'll add some nice spice to this section.

You never know what you're gonna get with a link.  It could be an old friend, or maybe some words of wisdom.  Other times, it'll just be a bunch of stupid humans.  The fun is in the mystery.  See you soon.

Anabelcentral has taken flight!  On behalf of the development committee, I would like to welcome you to our roving music-city.  It is our sincere hope that this prototype community will enrich all who spend time with it.  Anabelcentral is a synthesis of common building materials, plant life, and musical phenomena which is capable of being transported to a remote visitor.  It's a mobile music-city.  We feel this constitutes an evolution of the 20th century's great travel innovation: the destination that comes to you.  »»

By making the experience of travel more readily accessible in this way, we think people will ultimately have more interactions, and in turn, vastly more shared experiences.  Moreover, it will be possible for those interactions and shared experiences to happen in places and at rates previously impossible.

And this, we believe, will lead toward greater familiarity amongst all people, and help to destroy the separateness of people which plagues our small world.  We hope that other cities of similar constitution are established. »»

Only in recent years, since the advancement of key technologies, has it been possible to achieve this ambitious objective of a traveling city. »»

You might notice in anabelcentral a resemblance to the immobile city of Chicago, located in the USA.  Indeed, our prototype was based heavily on Chicago, as it's where we call home.

As with traditional cities like Chicago, Anabelcentral will never be a finished work. It is our aim to have exciting new music-structures and plant life for you to see and hear all the time. »»
Feel free to have the city stay with you as much and for as long as you like. But when you must part ways, don't hesitate to take a couple of recordings with you to remind you of your time with our baby.

Sincerely,
ACB,
Director of Development, Anabelcentral
